Guerra Franco-Indiana - French and Indian war - Parte 2

Ciao ragazzi,
alla fine ho ceduto.... Alcuni mesi fa, mi ero cimentato nella pittura di un vecchio indiano della Foundry sottintendendo che non era mia intenzione cimentarmi in quell'interessantissimo periodo storico conosciuto come la "Guerra Franco-Indiana".... Beh che vi devo dire, mi sono fatto il regalo di natale ed ho ordinato una vagonata di pezzi della Perry, Conquest (tramite warlord games) e North Star...

at the end I've made the jump.... Some months ago I've painted a Foundry woodland indian   not wanting to venture in that really interesting historical period known as the "French and Indian war".... Well, what should I say, I've done myself a Christmas gift and I've ordered a bucketload of models from Perry, Conquest (through warlord games) and North Star...

Not stealthy enough....

Mentre sono in attesa dell'arrivo dei miei ordini, ho tirato fuori i vari modelli già in mio possesso che si potevano rivelare utili. Nel ciarpame ho quindi ritrovato una manciata di indiani non proprio in salute (tutti uguali) che erano uniti ad un vecchio ordine che feci su ebay svariati anni fa.. Sorvolando sul fatto che ho il fortissimo sospetto che fossero delle copie di bassa qualità (un rischio sempre presente su ebay purtroppo), ho deciso comunque di dipingerne uno al quale ho aggiunto un moschetto in plastica della Wargames Factory. Dopo un'oretta di lavoro questo è il risultato finale ottenuto.

While I'm waiting for my order, I've rummaged in my Lead mountain to see if I could find something useful. In my lead garbage I've found an handful of not-so-healty indians (all the same pose) I've purchased on ebay a long time ago.. Even if I strongly suspect that those were counterfeited (unfortunately an always present risk on ebay), I've decided to paint one and to give him a Wargames Factory musket. After one hour of work, that's what I've obtained.

Cercerò di modificare il prossimo che farò fornendolo di gambali indiani e mocassini, sarà un ottimo allenamento per la scultura.... Voi che ne dite?? ;)

La Cacciatrice - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti,
ho da poco ricevuto un nuovo "carico" di clix e mi sono subito dato da fare con taglierino, materia verde e scalpelli...
Volendo dare una compagnia femminile ad un mio vecchio pezzo per il Progetto Z, ho deciso di usare come base il modello di Liz Sherman della serie Dark Horse.
Poiché le gambe e la mano sinistra erano inglobate nelle fiamme, ho deciso di tagliare via tutto. Ho poi sostituito le gambe con quelle di un non identificato clix ed ho riposizionato il braccio destro (troppo arretrato) e riscolpito l'avambraccio sinistro in modo da fargli afferrare correttamente il fucile.
Dopo aver eliminato gli elementi dell'equipaggiamento che non mi piacevano, come il coltello sulla gamba, ho scolpito alcuni astucci aggiuntivi sul cinturone ed ho allisciato il fondo schiena e la gamba sinistra.

Hi Guys,
I've recently received a new batch of clixs and I immediately started to work with my cutter, Green stuff and chisels..
Wanting to give feminine company to one of my old models for Progetto Z, I decided to use the Dark Horse serie Liz Sherman.
Since the legs and the left hand were "in flame", I've decided to cut away everything. I've then swapped the legs with the one of this clix. After repositioning the right arm (too backward) and resculpted the left one to properly grip the gun.
After shaving away the equipment I didn't liked, like the knife on the left leg, I've tried to resculpt some additional pouches on the belt, I then smoothed roughly her left leg and her bottom...

Spero vi piaccia, l'unica cosa ancora da fare è di aggiungere qualche foglia sulla base...
Aspetto i vostri commenti/consigli, che ve ne pare??

I hope you like it, the only thing still to be done is to add a few leaves on the base ... I'm now eagerly waiting for your comments/suggestions, what do you think?

Old Guard, new paint style - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti,
l'altro giorno stavo cercando di trovare un po' di spazio dove installare la mia nuova stampante quando mi sono imbattuto in un mio vecchio ufficiale Cadiano di Wh40k dipinto alla fine degli anni 90. Io sono affezionato alle mie vecchie "creature" poiché sono il miglior testimone di come si è evoluta la mia tecnica pittorica, purtroppo però, questo panzuto modello aveva la pittura così rovinata e scheggiata che l'unica soluzione possibile era quella di ridipingerlo da capo. Dopo un rapido bagno nella nitro, preso da ispirazione artistica, ho voluto provare a dipingerlo d'impulso con lo schema che ho deciso di usare per la mia Guardia in plastica.

Hi there,
last weekend, while I was trying to find a spot where to install my new printer, I stumbled in one officer model from my old Cadian army for Wh40k that I had painted at the end of the nineties. I usually don't repaint old models because I think they are the best witness about my progressing skill in painting but, unfortunately, this potbellied officer had his paintjob so chipped and damaged that the only viable solution was to strip it down and repaint it from scratch.. Wanting to repaint it immediately and not wanting to add it in my "unpainted lead mountain", I've decided to paint it with the new paint-scheme I'm using for my plastic Imperial Guard.

Come vi dicevo ho dipinto questo modello più per motivi affettivi che altro però devo dire che questo schema di colore mi piace proprio, forse ho trovato un modo di usare tutti quei vecchi cadiani in piombo che ho in giro per casa... ;)

As I said, I've painted this model more for sentimental reasons than for the practical use of it but I really like this paint-scheme, perhaps I've found an use for all the upainted old cadian I still got around the house... ;)

Quick clix repaint - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti,
in questi giorni ho portato avanti la modifica e la pittura di alcuni clix per "Progetto Z", per ora vi mostro il primo che ho completato.

Hi Guys,
in those days I have continued my convertion/painting work of some clix for "Progetto Z", for now I'll show you the first I've completed.

"Henchman Heroclix 103 Arkham Asylum" with a West wind pict head

Nulla di speciale per questo modello, mi sono solo limitato a sostituire la mano con la pistola, abbassare il braccio destro, sostituire la testa con quella di un guerriero pitto della West wind miniatures e stuccare dove serviva.
La pittura è stata ancora più veloce, senza neanche passare l'undercoat, ho dipinto con i colori foundation direttamente il modello, tempo necessario per realizzare tutto (compresa la conversione) circa 35 minuti... non male direi.. ;)

Nothing special for this model, I've just swapped his pistol hand with the one of another clix, I've lowered a bit the right arm, swapped the head for the one of a west wind pictish warrior and "greenstuffed" where needed.
The painting was even faster, I didn't even undercoated the model and painted everything with foundation paints. Total time needed, 35 minutes.... not bad... ;)

Cowgirl #1 - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti,
dopo una breve pausa dovuta ad una commissione alla quale sto lavorando, ho continuato a dedicare la mia modellistica attenzione al "progetto Z".
Visto che nel mio sondaggino di qualche tempo fa mi avevate chiesto di modificare un clix, ho deciso di provare a spingermi un po' oltre con la conversione.
Dopo una breve riflessione ho deciso di utilizzare la parte alta dello stesso clix che usai per realizzare la mia civile in fuga, per le gambe, invece, ho deciso di utilizzare quelle di Tiger Lily.
Dopo un lungo lavoro (confesso di aver tagliato via il tutto e ricominciato da capo alcune volte) ho cercato di ottenere l'effetto di una camicia aperta su di un top che lasciasse scoperto l'ombellico. Una volta ottenuto il tutto, ho provato a scolpire i capelli della ragazza con i capelli raccolti in una coda di cavallo (mia vera e propria passione, ad ognuno la sua!! ;P)

after a short break due to a commission which I am working on, I continued to devote modelling attention to "progetto Z".
In my little poll from some time ago, you asked me to modify a clix for modern gaming, I then decided to try to push a little further my modelling skills in this conversion.
After a brief reflection I decided to use the upper part of the same clix that I used to make my running civilian from a while back, for the legs, used those from the Tiger Lily clix.
After a long work (I confess to having cut off the whole thing and started over a few times) I tried to get the effect of an open shirt on a top that doesn't cover the belly. Once everything perfectly cured, I tried to sculpt the hair of the girl trying to obtain a ponytail (a real passion of mine, everyone has fetishes! ;P)

Per ultimo ho completato la pittura del modello, devo dire in tutta onestà di non essere del tutto soddisfatto della camicia però volevo provare qualcosa di diverso, spero vi piaccia....

Lastly I've completed the paintjob of the model, honestly I'm not overjoyed of the shirt but I wanted to try something different, I hope you like it...

Zombie jogger

Con la scusa di avere alcune ore di tempo libero in più, sto dedicando tutta la mia attenzione modellistica nel rimpolpare le fila delle schiere non morte per Progetto Z.

Volendo ottenere una Jogger che fosse vestita in maniera leggermente diversa da quella che avevo completato la settimana scorsa, mi sono armato di materia verde e ProCreate ed ho provveduto a vestire la mia sportiva non morta. 

Devo dire di aver lungamente esitato se coprire o meno la ferita sulla coscia destra per poi optare ad un diplomatico pantalone strappato, spero di aver ottenuto un effetto sufficientemente realistico.

With the excuse  of a couple of spare hours for the hobby, I'm dedicating my attention in trying to expand my zombie horde for Progetto Z ( well 3 zombies are not really a horde but you need to start somewhere!).

Wanting to do a zombie jogger dressed differently than the one I've completed last week, I've dressed my sporty zombie girl with Green Stuff and proCreate.

I've hesitated a lot before to complete her right thigh not knowing if I should have filled the wound. In the end I've settled for a "diplomatic" teared pant, I just hope I've realised it in a convenient way.

Una volta catalizzato lo stucco, mi sono dedicato alla pittura ed ho impiegato un 3 ore circa per completare il tutto. In realtà ho approfittato di questo modello per dipingere la pelle di altri 3 non morti che ho ancora in cantiere....

Once the Greenstuff completely cured, I've painted this model in roughly 3 hours taking the opportunity to paint the flesh of 3 other undeads I'm working on....

Shambling joggers

Come potete vedere, credo di aver ottenuto un effetto generale decente se confrontato al modello originale, l'importante però è fare pratica, arriverà il giorno in cui riuscirò a scolpirmi i modelli da solo..... spero!! ;)

As you can see, I think I've obtained a decent general effect  even if compared with the original model but the really important thing for me is to practice my sculpting skills, one day I would like to be able to sculpt my models myself..... I hope so at least!! ;)

come promesso, mi sono dedicato al vice sceriffo e devo dire di averlo completato abbastanza rapidamente. Ho utilizzato un modello della serie Chronoscope della Reaper, devo dire di aver un giudizio combattuto su questo pezzo, mentre i dettagli sono molto ben marcati, le proporzioni sono un po' "strane"... Sarà colpa del cappello ma mi sembra abbia delle gambe corte ed un busto lunghissimo (diciamocelo chiaramente, ha il culo basso!).

as promised, I've finished the Deputy sheriff i was working on and I must say I've finished it rather quickly (for my standards...). I've used a Reaper Chronoscope model and I must say that something is "wrong" in this model. Usually, reaper models have perfect proportions but this model here is instead a little odd with a long torso and short legs...

La difficoltà maggiore è stata, paradossalmente, quella di ottenere la stessa tonalità che avevo usato per i pantaloni e per l'asfalto della miniatura di Charles, spero di esserci riuscito, voi che ne dite??

The most difficult part was to obtain the same shade that I've previously used for the asphalt and   Deputy Charles's pants, I hope I've done them right, what you think??
