Da Mageknight a..... beh, qualcos'altro..

Salve a tutti,
oggi volevo semplicemente ribadire che il bistrattato mondo dei predipinti può veramente rivelarsi una miniera di modelli che, con un pizzico di attenzione, può dare molte soddisfazioni.
Per rafforzare questa mia convinzione, vi volevo mostrare un modello che ho realizzato un po' di tempo fa ma che non avevo ancora pubblicato..

today I would like to reaffirm that the often ignored world of the prepainted models may result in a mine of really interesting models that, with a little attention, may result in a lot of satisfaction.
I would like to show  you a model I converted and repainted a little while ago but I haven't published yet..

Expensive tunic and boots, not enough money let for the pants it seems....

Come potete vedere, sono partito da un modello della serie di Mageknight che ho sverniciato, dopo aver sostituito la testa originale con una testa della Hasslefree, ho provato a scolpire i capelli con un po' di materia verde ed ho cercato di ripulire le linee di fusione e le varie fessure.
Purtroppo, particolarmente sul braccio destro, non sono riuscito ad ottenere un risultato pulito a causa del materiale stesso nel quale è realizzata la miniatura.

As you can see, I've used a Mageknight miniature as a starting point and, having paint stripped it, I've swapped her head with an Hasslefree one. I then sculpted some hair with a little of greestuff and I've tried to clean all the mold lines and the cracks on the model.
Unfortunately, especially on her right arm, I wasn't able to obtain a clean result.

Per la base, semplice materia verde allisciata ed incisa, ho provato a sperimentare un effetto simil-marmo ma non posso dire di esserne veramente contento...

For the base I've simply used a small amount of green stuff that I've smoothed and carved and I've tried to obtain a marble effect that, honestly, I don't like very much...

Guardie Imperiali in ordine sparso - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti,
ultimamente ho giocato insieme a Zerloon la mia prima vera partita alla sesta edizione di Wh40k con la mia fidata Guardia Imperiale e devo dire che non mi è dispiaciuto affatto.
Credo che, complessivamente, questa edizione sia un netto miglioramento rispetto alla precedente anche se preferivo il concetto di elementi scenici "ad area" rispetto alla strana commistione tra linea di vista reale e "teorica" che mi pare di aver visto in questa edizione. Devo però anche confessare che il tutto potrebbe essere semplicemente dovuto da una mia cattiva interpretazione delle regole (non sarebbe la prima volta) ...
Detto questo, una volta tornato a casa, ho ritenuto fosse il caso di dipingere alcuni modelli aggiuntivi anche se, a questo ritmo, temo che non avrò mai un esercito completamente dipinto!!
Ho quindi deciso di dipingere una guardia veterana armata con un fucile della Victoria miniatures, un'altro specialista armato di lanciafiamme e, dato il gran vantaggio che ho avuto grazie al mio Astropate, ho deciso che fosse giunto il momento di dipingere anche il vecchissimo modello in mio possesso.

Hi everyone,
I have recently played, with my trusty Imperial Guard, my first real game of WH40K sixth edition against Zerloon and I have to say that I did liked it.
I think that, overall, this edition is a marked improvement over the previous one even if I preferred the concept of "area terrain" elements  instead of the mixture of real line of sight and "theoretical" one I saw in this edition. But I must also confess that the whole thing could simply be due to my own misinterpretation of the rules (it would not be the first time) ...
That said, once I got home, I felt I should paint some additional models though, at this rate, I'm afraid I'll never have a fully painted army!
So I decided to paint a veteran guard armed with a Victoria miniatures lasrifle (pardon me, laser rifle ;P ), another flamethrower specialist and, given the great advantage that I had thanks to my Astropath, I decided it was even time to paint the very old model in my possession.

Per ora è tutto, come al solito spero che i miei modelli vi piacciano ed aspetto i vostri commenti e consigli, come sempre, graditissimi..

To protect and to serve (dinner time!)

ultimamente devo dire di essere stato abbastanza prolifico anche se non ho completato tutti i modelli che mi ero prefissato. 

Avevo anche scritto un lungo post che raccontava gli avvenimenti dela mia partita ad ATZ... beh, il post è andato perduto e, onestamente, non mi sento particolarmente propenso a riscrivere tutto... Magari tra qualche giorno!! ;)

Per farmi perdonare, volevo condividere con voi un piccolo esperimento modellistico.. Come sapete, ho a disposizione una quantità non indifferente di zombi in plastica della Studio Miniatures (SM) oltre che ad alcuni vecchi modelli della Wargames Factory (WF). Ho quindi deciso di provare ad unire un busto della WF con delle gambe ed una testa calva della SM. Sfoderata la mia fidata materia verde, ho cercato di scolpire dettagli sul modello in modo da riprodurre il meglio possibile l'uniforme da vice sceriffo.

Hello to all,
lately I must say I was quite prolific even if I have not completed all the models that I wanted to.
I also wrote a long post that recounted the events of my ATZ game... Well, the post has been lost and, honestly, I do not feel particularly inclined to rewrite everything ... Maybe in a few days! ;)

To forgive me, I wanted to share with you a little modeling experiment.. As you know, I have a considerable amount of Studio Miniatures (SM) plastic zombies as well as some older models from Wargames Factory (WF) available. I then decided to try to join a WF torso with the legs and a bald head from SM. Armed with my trusty green stuff, I tried to sculpt details on the model in order to reproduce as well as possible a deputy sheriff uniform. 

(A lot) beyond the call of duty....

Devo confessare che il dettaglio che mi soddisfa di più è la camicia strappata sotto l'ascella destra, mi rendo conto che sia un dettaglio insignificante ma mi piace molto... ;)

ATZ, a battle report - Intro

Ciao a tutti,
approfittando della pazienza della mia mogliettina, Domenica scorsa ho provato ad allestire una partita di prova ad ATZ, non volendo ancora iniziare la mia campagna vera e propria, ho provato a giocare un Flashback del gruppo di sopravvissuti che avevo inaugurato a Progetto Z parecchio tempo fa.
Avrei voluto fare un report più dettagliato ma, purtroppo, la mia macchinetta fotografica mi ha abbandonato a metà partita, quindi, temo che dovrete accontentarvi di un Report piuttosto narrativo... ;)

Ad essere sinceri, devo confessare di aver fatto un grosso errore di valutazione nel scegliere di giocare la mia prima vera partita in solitaria in ambiente urbano, qualunque azione facessero i miei protagonisti attirava orde intere di Zombie, non il miglior modo di imparare le regole ad essere onesti e sono sicuro di aver fatto decine di errori.

Hi Boys and Girls,
taking advantage of the patience of my wife, last Sunday I tried to set up an ATZ test match, unwilling to begin my "real" campaign, I tried to play a flashback for the group of survivors I first used in Project Z a long time ago.
I wanted to do a more detailed report but, unfortunately, my camera abandoned me middle game, I'm then afraid you'll have to settle for a fairly narrative report instead... ;)
 
To be honest, I have to confess that I made ​​a big error of judgment in choosing to play my first real solitary  ATZ game in an urban environment, any action did by my characters attracted whole hordes of Zombies, not the best way to learn the rules and I'm sure I've made dozens of errors.

Initial Layout

L’idea alla base di questa partita era quella di mettere insieme Emanuelle e Dale, prima del loro incontro con Kurt, alla ricerca di un veicolo adatto. I due ragazzi, imbottigliati dietro ad un autobus incidentato e diversi veicoli abbandonati, poiché la strada è completamente bloccata, si ritrovano costretti ad abbandonare la loro moto e proseguire a piedi alla ricerca di un altro veicolo (Il camper nel piazzale a sinistra).

Emanuelle: Rep 4 Civilian star, Pep 2, Sav 3 – Agile e Brawler (entrambi tirati casualmente) Pistol;

Dale: Rep 4 Civilian star, Pep 3, Sav 2 – Free Spirit (tirato casualmente) Big-Ass Pistol

The idea behind this game was to put together Emanuelle and Dale, before their meeting with Kurt, looking for a suitable vehicle. The two teenagers, bottled up behind a crashed bus and several abandoned vehicles, since the road is completely blocked, they find themselves forced to abandon their motorcycles and walk in search of another vehicle (The RV in the yard on the left).
Emanuelle: Civilian Rep 4 star, Pep 2, Sav 3 - Agile and Brawler (both rolled randomly) Pistol;
Dale: Civilian Rep 4 star, Pep 3, Sav 2 - Free Spirit (randomly rolled) Big-Ass Pistol

La Chierica - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti,

dopo l'ennesima lunga assenza, eccomi di ritorno...

Dopo anni di assenza dal mondo dei GdR, ultimamente, ho deciso di ricominciare a giocare un po' di ruolo approfittando di una campagna associativa a D&D 4^ edizione che dovrebbe iniziare a breve.

Dopo una breve riflessione ho deciso di creare un chierico mezzelfo seguace della Regina Corvo. Non avendo però trovato una miniatura che mi piacesse, ho deciso di interpretare un personaggio femminile in modo da avere una scusa valida per modificare e ridipingere un modello predipinto della serie Pathfinder della NECA/Wizkids.

Dopo aver sverniciato il modello con la mia ormai collaudata tecnica, ho proceduto a sostituire lo spadino ed il suo fodero con una mazza ed una sacca autocostruite con la materia verde, fatto questo ho provato a scolpire i capelli in modo da farli sembrare lunghi raccolti in una coda di cavallo (vi ho già parlato della mia passione per questa pettinatura vero?? ;P ).

Hello to all,
after yet another long absence, I'm back again ...
It was years since I last played to some RPGs, I then decided to play in a little D&D 4th edition campaign which should begin shortly in my gaming club.
After a brief consideration I have decided to create an half-elf Raven Queen cleric. Although, I had not found a miniature that I really liked and then I decided to play a female character in order to have a valid excuse to convert and repaint a prepainted NECA/Wizkids Pathfinder model.
Having stripped the model with my tried and tested technique, I proceeded to replace the short sword and it's sheath with a mace and a pouch I sculpted with green stuff. Once I've done that, I tried to sculpt the hair to make them look longer and collected in a ponytail (I have already talked about my passion for this hairstyle don't I? :P).

Per completare il tutto ho scolpito un sottile strato di materia verde sulla base in modo da farlo sembrare di pietra.

As you can see, I've sculpted a small amount of Green stuff on the base to mimic a flagstone pavement.

Ad essere sinceri, non sono molto soddisfatto del risultato finale, considerando però di aver impiegato circa 3 ore per la pittura e considerando che era uno sfizio da usare durante il GdR, non mi posso lamentare troppo.....

Voi che ne dite? Ogni vostro commento o suggerimento è come sempre graditissimo!! 

Per ora  è tutto, a breve ci saranno aggiornamenti sul fronte clix per "Progetto Z", alcuni per me e qualcosa per un amico.... ;)

To be honest with you I'm not really satisfied of the final result but, perhaps, considering the 3 hours paint time and that I need this model for a RPG campaign, I should not complain too much...

Studio Miniatures plastic Zombie!!! Almeno uno è fatto...

Dopo una lunga attesa nella quale mi sono dedicato ad altri progetti, ho finalmente trovato il tempo di dipingere l'unico Zombie in plastica della Studio miniatures che avevo assemblato..
Essendo il primo di una lunga serie ho deciso di dedicarmici con un pizzico di attenzione in più senza dimenticare che mi stavo comunque dedicando ad uno zombie! ;)

After a long pause , I've finally decided to find the time to paint the lone Studio miniatures plastic zombie I've already assembled..
Since this will be the first of a long serie, I've decided to dedicate him a little more attention without forgetting that I'm about to paint a Zombie! ;)

Devo dire di essere soddisfatto, il modello si pulisce senza sforzo e rapidamente, anche se i dettagli non sono molto marcati, la qualità è eccellente.... Ora altri 79!!!

I must say I'm satisfied, the miniature was rapidly and easily cleaned, even if the details aren't really "sharp", the quality of the model is excellent... Now I've got 79 more to do!!!

Penal Legion - Parte 2

Ciao a tutti,
anche oggi vi voglio mostrare un piccolo aggiornamento alla mia Legione Penale della Guardia Imperiale. In realtà non ho fatto altro che sostituire la pistola e dipingere la power maul del Custodes  (la Guardia carceraria che svolge il ruolo di Sergente dell'unità). Ho sostituito la sua arma poiché quella che avevo scelto inizialmente, una pistola in plastica da Interdict Marine Viridiano della defunta I-Kore, aveva qualcosa che non mi convinceva ed alla fine ho deciso di usare una stubgun di Necromunda.

today I would like to show you a small update I've made to my Penal Legion squad. In fact I've just decided to change the handgun of the Custodes and I've painted his Power maul. I've decided to change his weapon because the one I previously choosed, a plastic Viridian Interdict Marine from I-Kore, had something that didn't convinced me and so I decided to use a Necromunda Stubgun.

La testa è anch'essa della Victoria Miniatures mentre il busto è di un normale cadiano al quale ho eliminato l'aquila imperiale ed ho scolpito i tre elementi sul petto per copiare un dettaglio presente sui vecchi Adeptus Arbites in piombo.

The head is from Victoria Miniatures while the bust is a normal Cadian bit with trimmed imperial eagle. I've sculpted the 3 elements on the chest to copy an element present on the old Adeptus Arbites lead models.
