What I'm doing....

Ciao a tutti ragazzi,
ultimamente non riesco proprio a mantenere i ritmi di prima, e si vede... Questo però non vuol dire che io non stia lavorando alacremente, anzi!
Come vi dicevo nel mio precedente post, i miei colori si sono talmente asciugati che, anche diluendoli, rimangono comunque grumosi e ruvidi, in una parola, pessimi!
Questo fatto mi ha portato a interrompere quasi del tutto la pittura in attesa di sostituirli con colori nuovi e mi sono dedicato maggiormente ad assemblare e convertire varie miniature per la Guardia Imperiale.
Il primo episodio della campagna di Zerloon ad ATZ però mi ha fatto tornare un po' di voglia "pittorica". Preso da raptus, ho afferrato Mickey che era abbandonato semi dipinto sulla mia scrivania da svariati mesi.
In un paio di ore gli ho realizzato una felpa "Ben10" ed uno zaino alla "Spongebob" (più o meno), realizzato una semplice basetta ed ecco un giovane sopravvissuto da aggiungere alla mia bacheca..

lately I just can not keep pace as before, and it shows but this does not mean I'm not working hard indeed!
As I said in my previous post, my colors have almost dried up and, even after thinning them, they remain lumpy and rough, in a word, horrible!

This fact led me to stop all the painting while I wait to replace my colors with some new I must purchase. Meanwhile, I have dedicated myself mostly in assembling and converting various miniatures for the Imperial Guard.
Zerloon's first post about his ATZ campaign made me wanting to use my brushes a little more and I grabbed Mickey which was abandoned, still half painted, on my desk for several months.

In a couple of hours I have given him a "Ben 10" ​​ sweatshirt and a (more or less) "SpongeBob" backpack. I then created a simple base and now we have a young survivor to add to my cabinet..

Per la basetta mi son tenuto sul semplice ma ho voluto fare 2 esperimenti, provare a realizzare una lattina di bibita ed un po' di carta accartocciata.... Sembrerà strano ma era la prima volta che ci provavo!! ;)

For the base I tried to keep it simple but I did 2 experiments, I've tried to make a soda can and added a tillte of paper "rubbish"... You may believe me not, but I've never tried it before!! ;)

Una bibita ed una "Guida" e si va a caccia di zombi! -- A drink and a "famous Guide" and we can start hunting zombies!

Per ora è tutto, sul lato "Progetto Z", vorrei ora realizzare una versione "in salute" della mia guardia giurata e, soprattutto, il mio alter ego, non sarà facile... Per quanto riguarda gli altri progetti, beh, date un'occhiata voi stessi!!! ;)

come avrete certamente notato, ultimamente sto procedendo mooolto a rilento... Le ragioni sono molte e parliamo soprattutto di lavoro anche se, il fatto che io debba ricomprarmi praticamente tutti i colori non mi aiuta di certo... Detto questo vi vorrei mostrare i modelli ai quali sto (molto lentamente) lavorando...
Parliamo di un Ufficiale Cadiano Veterano nella livrea che avevate già visto qui e dei due Custodes che vi avevo mostrato in quest'altro post.

Hi Guys,
as you may have noticed, lately I'm uptatiding the blog waaaay too slowly... There are many reasons for this, mostly real life work but I must say that, having to rebuy almost all of the colors doesn't help me either...
Having said that I would like to show you the models I am (very slowly) working on...
We are talking about a veteran Cadian officer in the same bright uniform that you had already seen here and the two Custodes I showed you in this post.

Still WIP progress but nealy completed.....

Come potete notare siamo ancora lontani dal tavolo da gioco, però, piano piano, ci arriveremo!!! ;)

Cosa bolle in pentola o "What's next" - Wh40k progress - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti,
anche se può sembrarvi strano, ultimamente non sono rimasto del tutto inattivo, infatti mi sono principalmente dedicato a lavori di conversione/modifica piuttosto che di pittura.
Come già accennato in questo mio precedente post, ho ricominciato a dedicare un po' di tempo al mio esercito della Guardia ed ho deciso di lavorare ad alcune delle Unità più particolari e, a mio parere, interessanti dell'ultimo codex, Cavalleggeri e Legione penale. Dato che i modelli GW per le suddette unità sono orribili (troppo vecchio come concept) o inesistenti, ho deciso di dedicarmi ad alcune conversioni...

Nel mio perigrinare per la rete, sono finito sul sito di una delle migliori modelliste della scena internazionale, mi riferisco a Victoria Lamb che ha recentemente cominciato a commercializzare dei kit di modifica che ritengo eccezionali.
In proposito ho deciso di ordinare i kit per la realizzazione di Rough riders e Penal Legion.
Nell'attesa di ricevere il tutto, ho cominciato a lavorare a due Custodes che faranno le veci dei sergenti per le squadre della legione penale ed ho "assemblato" un cavalleggero armato di Meltagun, con dei pezzi che avevo già nella mia bit box, in modo da fare un po' di pratica con la Cavalleria.

although it may seem strange, lately I was not completely inactive, in fact I mostly worked on some conversions rather than painting models.
As already mentioned in my previous post, I spent some time working at my Imperial Guard Army and I decided to work on some of the most unique, and in my opinion most interesting, units of the last codex, the Rough riders and the Penal Legion. Since the GW models for these units are horrible (the RR are too old as a concept and horrendously overpriced) or non-existent (no PL yet), I decided to convert some...

In my "internet wandering", I ended up on the site of one of the best Australian modeller/painter around (imho), I'm talking about Victoria Lamb, multiple Golden demon winner, who has recently begun to produce and sell some convertion kits that I consider really useful.
In this regard, I decided to order the Rough Riders and Penal Legion kits.
While I'm waiting to receive them, I started working to the Penal Legion Custodes (the sergeants equivalents for that unit) and I've "assembled" a meltagun toting Rough rider with some spare parts I already had. This way I could do a little practice with cavalry models.

Per ora è tutto, appena riceverò i kit ne farò una recenzione spietata!! ;)

sono convinto che eravate scettici ma eccomi di nuovo! Stasera ho dedicato un paio di orette per portare avanti il mio Ufficiale Cadiano e posso dire di averlo praticamente ultimato.

I know you were skeptics about me posting again soon but here I am!! I've dedicated a couple of hours in painting my Cadian Officer and he's almost completed now..

A Veteran Officer in a really bad mood...

Come potete vedere necessita ancora di alcuni ritocchi e devo ancora dipingere la basetta però, considerando che è un pezzo da gioco e che devo dipingere un esercito da 1500pt, direi che può anche andare così....
Il braccio sinistro (maglio escluso) è stato scolpito su di un pezzo di fil di ferro ma ho preferito coprire la spalla con uno spallaccio dell'equipaggio del Chimera Cadiano per "legare" meglio l'Ufficiale all'uniforme degli altri uomini della compagnia..

As you can see he still needs some adjustments and I have yet to paint the base, however, considering that it is a playing piece and not intended for display,  and considering that I have to paint a 1500pt army, I would say that it is complete ....
The left arm (excluding the power fist) was modelled with Green stuff on some wire but I finally decided to cover the shoulder with a shoulder pad taken from the Cadian Chimera crew to give the idea that the Officer is wearing the same uniform than the rest of the Company. .

 

 Che ve ne pare?? A me, onestamente piace!! ;)

Alle origini - Warhammer 40k - Parte 1

Ciao a tutti ragazzi,
dopo (l'ennesima) pausa dall'hobby, non me la sento di dirvi che sono tornato in carreggiata però, almeno ci provo! ;)
Detto questo, abbiamo appena iniziato una campagna a Warhammer 40k ideata dal buon Zerloon. In realtà non giocavo più a 40k da circa tre anni, quindi i miei modelli sono in condizioni pietose... Ho quindi deciso di ricominciare a lavorare alla mia Guardia Imperiale ed approfitterò dell'occasione per mandare a riposo i miei vecchi cadiani in piombo (troppo fragili e suscettibili a scheggiature) per sostituirli con i cadiani in plastica (senza disdegnare varie conversioni.. )
Dopo un'interminabile ricerca fra le migliaia di immagini del mio HD, ho trovato alcuni Cadiani con una livrea molto interessante. Non riesco a ricordare dove le avevo trovate ma credo fosse nel forum Dakka dakka, anzi, doveste riconoscere la livrea e ricordarvi l'autore, sarei felice di saperlo per dargli il giusto merito! ;).
Il primo modello al quale mi dedicherò sarà un Ufficiale che ho convertito usando vari pezzi in piombo e plastica.

after (yet another) break from the hobby, here we are again! ;)
That said, we just started a Warhammer 40k campaign designed by Zerloon. In fact I did'nt played at Wh40k for about three years, and my miniatures are in poor conditions.. So I decided to start working on my Imperial Guard again and take the opportunity to phase out my old metal Cadians (too much susceptible to paint chipping) and replace them with the plastic ones (not without a good dose of conversions ..)
After an endless search through the thousands of pictures in my HardDrive, I found some very interesting Cadians with a nice livery. I cannot remember where I found them but I think it was in the Dakka Dakka forum, in fact, if you recognize the livery and remember the author, please tell me, I would be happy to give him the right credit! ;). 
The first model that I will dedicate myself to is an officer that I converted using various metal and plastic bits.

Ho utilizzato la testa di un Ufficiale cadiano, il power fist di un vecchio Ufficiale Cataciano ed il busto di Shaeffer, un bel po' di lavoro di seghetto e materia verde!
Fatto questo mi sono dedicato alla pittura, siamo ancora in mare aperto ma è un inizio...

I used a Cadian officer head, the power fist from an old Catachan officer and Shaeffer's torso, a lot of "saw" work and green stuff!
I then started to paint him... Still a lot to do but it's a start ... What do you think? :)

Perché sono scomparso - Why I disappeared. - 5 days

alcuni di voi si chiederanno che fine ho fatto.... Beh, non preoccupatevi troppo per me, diciamo che al momento ho alcuni impegni che proprio non posso rimandare, tra 5 giorni (15/10/2011) la mia vita da uomo libero si conclude.... MI SPOSO !!! ;)
